NIGERIAN JELLOF RICE
Unarguably the superstar of Nigerian cuisine, Jollof Rice is a fragrant, one-pot dish made with long-grain rice, tomatoes, onions, and peppers. It is often served at weddings and celebrations, usually accompanied by fried plantain (dodo) and grilled chicken.
SOUTH KOREAN KIMCHI AND BIBIMBAP
While Kimchi (fermented vegetables) is served with nearly every meal, Bibimbap is perhaps the most iconic main dish. It is a colorful bowl of warm rice topped with seasoned vegetables (namul), gochujang (chili pepper paste), soy sauce, and a fried egg or raw beef.
Other Staples: Bulgogi (marinated beef BBQ), Tteokbokki (spicy rice cakes), and Korean Fried Chicken.

The Hamburger is a global symbol of American culinary culture. From fast-food staples to gourmet versions, this sandwich consisting of a ground meat patty inside a sliced bun is the most popular “classic” American dish.
Other Staples: Apple Pie, Fried Chicken, Macaroni and Cheese, and BBQ Ribs.

Often considered the national dish, Bobotie is a Cape Malay creation featuring spiced minced meat (beef or lamb) baked with an egg-based custard topping. It perfectly blends savory, sweet, and spicy flavors using curry powder and dried fruits.
Other Staples: Braai (South African BBQ), Biltong (cured meat), and Pap (maize porridge).
🇺🇬 Uganda: Matooke
Matooke (steamed and mashed green bananas) is the quintessential staple of Uganda. It is typically prepared by peeling the bananas, wrapping them in banana leaves, and steaming them until soft. It is often served with a rich peanut (groundnut) sauce or meat stew.
Other Staples: Rolex (a rolled chapati with an omelet), Luwombo (stew steamed in banana leaves), and Muchomo (roasted meat).
